This is a lightly-edited transcript and audio recording of a single, self-contained demo session with Susan, a participant in a small training I conducted in early 2017. We’re working remotely by Zoom video conferencing. My intention is to give her a complete experience of mapping and moving several feeling states and to demonstrate the basics of the Feelingwork process.
The session lasted about an hour and forty-five minutes. In the session, we went into Susan’s experience of having difficulty allowing herself to receive expressions of love from those around her. We identified and mapped four distinct feeling states, and shifted them to their ideal. At the end of the session I led her in imagining the impact of having access to these new states.
In the final post in this series, Susan shares some insights and reflections when we met one month after the session. Although this was a demo session and limited in the scope of what we took on, the work had a significant impact.
Throughout the transcript, I’ve interjected comments (in italics like this) to give you more information about what’s happening in the session, using what shows up to illustrate the method and what it reveals about the territory of feeling. I’ve also included the images we drew together.
Finally, to give you an idea of the kind of documentation I’ll provide you if you choose to work with me, below is the notes file I created from this session. Click the image to open the fully-functioning file to read notes and view full-size images.
